Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Carseats - Britax

My babe will be 15months on coming Monday and soon she will grow out of her infant car seat. So here I am searching for an investment carseat....

Are there any major differences betw these two:

Britax Pavilion 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat

Britax Advocate 70-G3 Convertible Car Seat

It sounds like the Advocate is a better model, but most moms I know and store sales ppl have recommended the Pavilion instead. I am not sure why. (I've asked them already, but I didn't get any satisfying answers)

Or do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Carseats - Britax

  • The Advocate has side impact cushions, that's the only difference. We have the Boulevard and have been very happy with it.

The Advocate has a lot more side-impact protection, so it's quite a bit bigger width-wise (IMO) than the other seats. I'm guessing its large size is why people aren't recommending it.

The Pavilion is the same seat as the Boulevard (which I have) with the addition of the "Click-Safe" feature. Personally, I didn't think the CS was necessary. I can get the harness tightened well without it. (and, I'll be honest: I wanted the purple pattern. It only came on the Boulevard.)

I found the Britax website really helpful. You can select the different models, and it will show you the similarities and differences between them.

  • DD is 15mo and still fits in her infant seat but we switched to a convertible at 7mo because she screamed nonstop in the car. DD is 18lbs 4.5oz 29.25".

The Advocate has the click-safe feature as well.  At least ours does and it's from 2012.

You're right, the Advocate does. I meant that the Boulevard doesn't have the CS. Other than that, the Pavilion and the Boulevard seats are the same. Smile

  • Everyone's got it covered already, but definitely go onto the Britax website and use the compare feature to help give you a clearer picture of the differences between models.

  • Thanks.

Prior to posting I have checked their websites and amazon reviews, but I wanted to know what y'all thought of those two carseats and alike.

My babe is still about 20pounds and she seems to like her carseat more than ever. Our infant seat is upto 32 pounds and 32" tall. My babe's height is getting there, but not for another month or so. Trust me, I am not stuffing my child like a sausage. Every babe grows at different rate.

     Happy travels.

  • I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, but the click safe on the pavilion seems to consistently click before its tight enough. Everything else has basically already been said about the differences though, I am almost certain that the advocate also comes with the HUGS pads. And as an fyi the HUGS are not required for rfing use, only ffing. Which is good because I don't feel that I can get my daughter in the seat well with them on... she is a big girl 95 and her torso is still a bit short for those things.

    We have them both.nbsp; The only difference is the HUGS chest pads on the Pavilion and the fact that the Advocate has the extra sideimpact pads.nbsp; The Advocate is a beast and is huge.nbsp; The Pavilion is a little smaller not much since it doesn't have those huge side pads.I honestly don't like the Pavilion as much because I find those HUGS chest pads to be ridiculously annoying to deal with.nbsp;nbsp;

This. I have the boulevard and the new hugs pads are super annoying. They're on all the new models And although safersupposedly they're a pain in the a
