Lucy's only 2 but asked me "why?" at least 80 times on Saturday...she didn't ask at all Sunday but did again several times last night...seems a little early - how old was your child when this awesome stage began?
Around 2 DD started asking, "What's this/that?" A LOT, and most of the things she knew the answer to already. Just yesterday she started asking "Why", so 2.5 for DD. So fun!
With DS, it began a few weeks ago. The problem is, he asks randomly. He will be playing with his blocks in the middle of the living room and will look up at me and ask "Why?" with this innocent look on his face. It would be much easier to answer if I had any idea what he was talking about.

DD doesn't do it a lot (nearly 3), but we have always had lots of conversations about things, so I think the "why's" get answered as we go. Unless, of course, she's saying it repeatedly as a game, because sometimes she likes to do that, knowing that eventually we will say something silly and ridiculous. She's gone through phases of asking "why" or "who is that" or some other sort of question, but it hasn't been *just* the why question for weeks on end as of yet.
Liam has only recently started with this and it seems to come and go. So around 2.5 but not consistently.
