I guess we are transitioning to the crib.....

Mobile:I guess we are transitioning to the crib.....

Last night we had friends over and put DD in her crib expecting her to wake up one more time to eat. When we were getting ready to go to bed DD was still sound asleep so we left her thinking again she would be up to eat. We set up the monitor and went to bed. Well DD slept until 3:30! She woke upto eat then! I did not sleep very well because every time she made a sound I would worry and check on her. Today I went and bought a video monitor hoping it will help. I am so proud of DD, but it makes me sad too because it also means she is growing up! :(

  • My husband and I have decided that we need our lives back so we are planning to move my DD to her crib tonight..she has been napping in her crib and sleeping with my husband and I at night. Although we know she will be okay, it also makes me so sad to think that she is growing up. Im getting tearful just thinking about it.
  • Good luck! Our transition didn't go so well and DS ended up in our bed :/

  • We haven't even put the crib together yet.
  • I keep telling myself I'm going to put DS in the crib but I'm so scared he won't sleep good. Maybe I'll give it a shot next weekend.

  • They are growing too fast!!! I started putting DD in her crib for all her naps at 3wks and at 5wks she started sleeping in there at night. She sleeps a lot better in her crib in her room! I feel like I did it too soon and I miss her lol but my mom was always on me to make sure and not hold her too much and put her in her crib so it dsnt become difficult later on.

  • I can relate, my DD is 16 weeks.  She takes her naps during the day in her crib (usually, not always though).  But I am having such a hard time putting her in her crib at night, mainly for my own selfish reasons.  My husband works out of town for 2-3 weeks at a time, so I love having her in bed with me where I know she's safe.  But I know I need to start making that transition during the evening too.  Just not sure how well I will handle it.  I know she will probably end up waking up a couple of times and she may end up in bed with me anyway, but at least it will start that transition.  Good luck to you.
