    I wanted to be a teacher, and I do have my teaching credentials but I SAH now. I may go back to teaching even if it's just subbing part time once we are done having kids and they are all in school, but we will see.

    I wanted to be a social worker/therapist.

    Part of my job now is advising college students, so it is similar and wonderful, but not exactly what I wanted to do when I was younger.

    I currently work in public policy/government relations and have worked in politics, on campaigns and for legislators, so it's not too far off from what I wanted to do.  And I married a lawyer...&nbs

    I wanted to be a veterinarian, but after working as a vet asst, I realized I cared too much for the animals. Instead I'm a lawyer, but I do animal law work on the side.
