Please share Christmas card ideas

DD doesn't do well with photographers.  Because of that (and we are poor), we are going to do our own photographs and just order cards off of snapfish.  Any cute poses or ideas?  I saw one today where the family was reading a Christmas book together.  I thought that was cute and DD might actually do that.  Any other ideas would be much appreciated!  Thanks

Re: Please share Christmas card ideas

  • This site has a ton of ideas:  https://www.thriftyfun.com/tf988253.tip.html

I tried getting DD to peek through a wreath; doing the J-O-Y cards; and getting her to sit under mistletoe so we could kiss her on either cheek and/or have the dog licking her cheek, but none of those worked out.  I did some pics of her "baking" that I think we'll end up using instead...turns out, having her actually DO something worked a lot better than expecting her to sit still!

  • Have everyone wear pajamas and sit in front of the tree. DD is surrounded by gifts and toys, w/ a big grin on her face. You and DH are opening boxes with socks in them.

Caption reads "It pays to believe in Santa."

  • This was ours from last Xmas.

  • I'll probably either:

do 3 separate pics of DD, holding a J, O and Y to spell JOY together.

just a cute pic of her in casual/festive clothes (like jeans and a sparkly red sweater) in front of the tree.

maaaaaybe a picture of her sleeping in her crib with a caption like "DD was nestled all snug in her bed", but this would require a flash going off and probably waking her so probably not.

  • We are going to attempt the J-O-Y card idea as pp mentioned.  Hopefully my dog will cooperate and I can get him to "hold" the O with this mouth, and DS will hold the J and Y.

  • I attempted mine today, and was not very successful.  Trying to get a 4 month old and almost 3 year old to both being looking and smiling is nearly impossible.  I had bought them matching Christmas pjs, and I had them wearing them cuddled in bed.  I was going to do the "The children were nestled all snug in their bed" caption.

  • We always take family pictures on Christmas in our Christmas jammies.  I order cards after Christmas and send them out by New Year.
