Temper tantrums

My wonderful daughter has suddenly started throwing the most glorious temper tantrums. I am talking thrashing and literally screaming until she is hoarse for like an hour straight.

how do you handle tantrums? Ignore?

It kind of depends in our house.  I find that typically DD throws tantrums when she is either tired or hungry, or on occasion if she is overwhelmed (holiday with 10 kids running around,etc).  So when I see a meltdown coming or already happeni

DS throws trantrums when he doesn't get his way. He wants to do things his way & when he wants to do them. There is no easy answer for us. When we are at home I either ignore him, or put him in time out till he stops crying and can talk like a big boy

Can you tell the cause of the tantrum or does she just randomly break down? If my daughter throws a tantrum when I tell her no I try to find an alternative to her

My daughter just started with the tantrums this week. It's always when she wants something a certain way - you cut something in half that she wanted whole, you ask her if she wants milk when she doesn't want it, she asks for something and you hand it to h
