The boys had their 48hr Bilirubin test and while Silas' was within normal limits Sawyer's was a bit high so he spent Easter with his super cool sunglasses on in the tanning salon. I went down to see them for every feeding (every 4 hours) to bring whatever I could pump and to get myself walking. Walking has helped my c/s recovery 100x over.
The absolutely BEST news so far is that Silas was able to come off of his CPAP completely and is breathing 100% on his own. *CHEERS*
We actually got to see what his little sweet face looks like, nose and all!
Isn't he precious? That little nose just melts my heart. We were able to hold him for about 30 minutes and he seemed to recognize my voice almost immediately. He was fussing a bunch for the nurse and as soon as she handed him to me and I started talking to him he cooed a couple of times and fell asleep. Of course it made me cry! Damn hormones!
Sawyer has been a lot less fussy since they started feeding him and I asked if I could turn the lights off and take his goggles off for a few minutes and as soon as the goggle came off and I started talking to him he opened his eyes and just stared in my direction for a good 5 minutes. Of course, commence more crying from me.
I took probably a million pictures since I hadn't seen his eyes before. You can tell that his color isn't as good as his brother's but really he shouldn't be on the lamps but another day or so.
They're just so perfect I could watch them all day. I'm dreading getting discharged on Tuesday. I will miss them terribly but my recovery is important too.
Thank you ladies for all the sweet words about our precious pair. I will continue to update on their progress as I am able to.
Happy Easter!!
