church question

Does your church do special services leading up to Easter? I'm not all that familiar with how other churches celebrate but Catholics have Holy Week. Holy Thursday we celebrate the Last Supper and do a washing of the feet ceremony, Good Friday we adore the cross and focus on Jesus being crucified, Holy Saturday is a super long mass at night (starts at 8pm) with a ton of readings, baptizing new Catholics, honoring all the saints, and then it ends with Jesus rising, and then of course there is Easter Sunday. Just curious how other denominations celebrate.

  • I grew up Baptist and the Easter was the only special service.  I think readings in the weeks leading up to Easter were the events that took place during Lent.  It has been years (at least 18) since I went so I don't remember exactly.

  • Our church (a non-denominational Christian church) just does Easter Sunday.  I know a lot of other Protestant/Christian churches do Good Friday or Maundy Thursday services, but ours doesn't.
