Toothfairy, whats the going rate?

I just read the tooth fairy loving 10 year old post.

People were mentioning a few bucks. As in dollar bills? Seriously people? I got a quarter per tooth and thought that was pretty amazing.

So, what is the going rate now? When D starts losing teeth what do you project it to be? Do I need to start budgeting for it now?

My SS gets 5 bucks. I kid you not.

I think it's redic but his parents started it so I can't weigh in too heavily on how stupid it is.

DS1 has lost 2 teeth.  Our Tooth Fairy gives $1/tooth.  That's what I got.

For the twins we gave $5 bucks for their first tooth and then $2 for the rest.  We were all really excited about those first lost teeth.  haha.

We got a dollar per tooth. My parents also had five kids so anything more than a dollar probably would have sent us to the poor house.

I can't imagine giving 10-20 dollars for a tooth. Lucky kid!

I was given $1 per tooth when I was growing up. Will probably do the same with DD. I love the idea of $1 coins!

I also got a $1 as a kid.  DS has not lost any teeth, so I will probably do the same thing.

Ds used to get a 2 dollar bill or a couple bucks. We had to put it in the mailbox because he did not like the idea of a lady coming in his room at night and stealing his tooth. So we had to "tell" her to stay out.

The amount I got depended on the size of the tooth. I think I got 2 silver dollars for the first tooth, $1 for a front tooth and some amount of quarters for smaller teeth. One time I got tooth fairy Barbie, that was awesome.
