NBR- Freezing food question

Just a quick question for you all.  I am making cut out and decorated sugar cookies and cake pops for my cousins bridal shower (35 people) which is the first weekend of April.  I was hoping to make them ahead of time and maybe freeze them (thawing them in the fridge a couple days before the shower)  Does anyone know if I can do this and have them still taste the same?

  • You can easily freeze the cookies, but you need to thaw them out completely before icing them.  The moisture will shift around if you freeze them iced and it'll make the icing run and separate in places when they defrost.  However, you can re

  • Thanks for the advice.  The cake pops are actually coated in a candy chocolate coating.  It's the same thing you would use to make chocolate covered pretzels.  However maybe to play it safe I will just wait to decorate both the cake pops an

  • I've frozen un decorated cake pops before.  It helps saves time when I have plenty of things/treats to make for parties.  I make them in advance and freeze them and a day or so before the event, take em out and coat them
