How many miscarriages did you have before successful pregnancy?

Hi guys, I just suffered my second loss, D&C was this morning. My question is how many losses did you have before going on to have a successful pregnancy and what did you get different, if anything, as far as supplements or meds? Thank you and congrats on your pregnancies.

I'm sorry for your losses. I had two MCs before this PG. although I won't consider it successful until I'm holding a LO, things are going well so far! I didn't do anything different...my Dr considered my two losses bad luck, but would have sent me to an RE if I'd had a third loss.

I've had 5 losses since October of 2010.

My successful pregnancy (i had trouble calling it successful while i was pregnant...) was via IVF... It started out as twins and we lost one at 7 and a half weeks. 

4  of the pregnancies were no meds and on our own... 1 we did Femara that was the cycle right before we tried IVF last march it was a CP. 

My DD will be 3 weeks old tomorrow

I had two miscarriages before this bfp.

After my second loss I did the RPL testing and found out that I have an abnormal uterus which has a miscarriage rate of 80%. I was going to get the surgery to correct it, but found out I was pregnant again before the surgery and so far I am 24 weeks!

In terms of what I did different this pregnancy, besides knowing my dx, I also had a short LP, so my RE put me on b6 and 200g of daily progesterone.

I had 3, and I'm 18 weeks with this pregnancy my 4th I had rpl testing done but nothing was discovered. My first two losses were apparently flukes and the third was a c/p so I have no idea. I focused on my physical and mental health for awhile and then it happened.

I'm sorry for your losses. There's nothing that can prepare you for multiple losses.

I had two MCs before this PG. RPL testing showed nothing abnormal, our second baby had triploidy (freak chromosonal thing that "just happens")

I've been on crinone for this one, so far I'm past 11 weeks, which is our record. 

I hope your recovery goes well & you have better luck moving forward.

I am so sorry for you loss. I had an EP followed by a MC 6 months later and then PG with DS 6 months after. I had a MC almost 2 years later and then an EP 2 months later and am PG again 4 months later. We had determined that I had low progesterone after the first MC so I was put on prometrium suppositories 3x daily with DS along with 100 mg B6 and 81mg Baby Aspirin daily to help suppress any possible clotting. Again I am so sorry for you losses and will keep you in my prayers!

I had 4 miscarriages before getting pregnant with this current pregnancy. I lost a lot of weight, and got a lot of my levels evened out (thyroid, vitamins, etc) and then I was pregnant soon after.

While I'm still not counting this pregnancy as 100% successful just yet, it's going much better than it has before. I've had two losses before this pregnancy. This time around, my OB had me take Progesterone Suppositories for 12 weeks, as well as 81mg of Aspirin everyday. So far, so good.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so unfair anyone has to go through this once, let alone twice.
My loss info is In my siggy. Extensive testing showed i needed some help. I've been On multiple medications for this pg to make it stick including progesterone, steroids and blood thinners. I firmly believe I wouldn't be here today without Lovenox.

This is a great thread with lots of varied success stories as well, and you'll see some women needed medical help, and others didn't. Sorry it's not clicky.

I had two miscarriages before this pregnancy.  With this pregnncy, my ob started me on crinone as soon as I got my positive pregnancy test & kept me on it until I reached 12 weeks.

I had 4 before this pg.  I did two things differently.  I started eating gluten free, and switched from crinone to PIO (I was also dealing with infertility)

I haven't had a mc. I had a preemie loss. With Lucas I was on extra frolic acid and baby aspirin. My progesterone was low so I was on a suppository for 12w. This time I didn't need progesterone.

I am so sorry.. I had 3 miscarriages in a row before I had my daughter last year and now I am almost 33 weeks with my second daughter

I'm so sorry for your losses. I had 2 m/c's prioe to this pregnancy. After my 2nd I learned I have hypothyroidism. I'm on meds now to keep my levels under control, and I'm hopeful this will be my take home baby.

I'm sorry for your losses. I had 2 miscarriages prior to this pregnancy, this is the furthest I've ever been in a pregnancy. I was referred to an RE for RPL work up. 

I was diagnosed with DOR, so I started COQ 10 supplements higher doses and started acupuncture. We got this BFP after 2 months of supplements. After my BFP I was noted to have low progesterone and started on Crinone till 12 weeks.

I am so sorry for your losses. It's a horrible thing to go through. I had two miscarriages before this BFP. My testing showed that I have two blood clotting disorders. I am on high disses of folic acid, baby aspirin and progesterone just in case. I consulted with an RE and a hematologist about my diagnosis and they both agreed with my OB.

I am so sorry for your losses. I'm not by any means out of the woods yet since it's still early, but I had 3 mc before this pregnancy. So far I've made it past the first 2 losses, but my last loss before this pregnancy was at 8w4d. I'm hoping for the best out of this one though, things are looking so much better so far this time around. Wishing you the best moving forward.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had 6 losses before this pregnancy. I had 4 losses before 5 weeks. One suspected ectopic which I received MTX for and one loss with a DandC at 11.5 weeks.

I'm so sorry for you losses. Do not give up hope, I had my daughter without issue then went on to have two miscarriages before having my son. When trying for a third, we had another miscarriage before I had my newborn daughter. There were a lot of tough times during those three losses, but my 3beautiful children were worth every second.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I sufferd thew 7 losses. 2 ectopics and 5 M/C. After my last M/C My mom told me that she would pay for me to go see a Reproductive Dr. But she didn't have to pay due my INS cover everything. This was all after have DD back in 2003.

I'm so sorry for your losses.

I had 2 miscarriages before getting pregnant with this LO. We actually thought I was having a 3rd miscarriage and the OB had just got us an appt for RPL, then we found out this baby was ok. 

The only thing we did different was to go overseas for our anniversary. Nothing else, which leads me to agree with my OB's assurance my losses were just 'bad luck', although we were on fertility treatments. I don't get pregnant on my own, so had started to believe I also couldn't carry a baby at all.

I hope these replies have given you some comfort, but also do not hesitate to push for testing if nothing changes. There might be something going on that needs resolving before you try conceiving again.

Im very sorry for your losses. Technically i can't call this pregnancy "successful" but I am the most pregnant I've ever been. I had two miscarriages followed by an ectopic and lost a twin very early in this pregnancy. I didn't do anything "different" but IVF. I wouldn't take any meds without first okaying it with your doctor. every one is going to be different and most miscarriages can't be avoided by meds or supplements. (((hugs))))

Just one at 15 weeks but it devastated me, had no answers as to why, but I'm now pregnant with my daughter at 23weeks. I switched drs at 14 weeks with her and told him all of my fears so he ordered me to get extra testing and turned out I have clotting disorders. I started taking baby aspirin and folic acid and everything is going ok thus far, I now touch wood.
