YUUUCK!!!

LO had surgery 2 weeks ago. It was a hypospadias correction and due to the medicine, bandaging, and care afterwards we put him in disposables while he recovered. So today I put him back in cloth and we I took the first diaper off of him I opened the pail to find ONE diaper in the bottom of it.. It's his overnight diaper that we took off of him the morning of his surgery and I completely forgot about it...so it's been festering in all of its pee soaked glory for two weeks. O.O

how would you suggest I wash this? it's an Ecoposh fitted if that matters. Should I do a soak? Should I boil it? I'm at a loss. It doesn't smell like its molded or anything. It actually doesn't smell bad at all.. Just like a normal pee diaper.

So many hugs! Also I clicked the 365 one first, and you are so pretty, and E has eyes to die for.

I would probably spray the diaper with hydrogen peroxide and then wash it in bleach just to kill anything that may secretly be festering. If it doesn't smell or look super horrendous though, I wouldn't be too worried.

I would probably spray the diaper with hydrogen peroxide and then wash it in bleach just to kill anything that may secretly be festering. If it doesn't smell or look super horrendous though, I wouldn't be too worried.

Awe thanks : we have no idea how we made a kid as cute as Elliot. He must have gotten so long hidden good genes or something. Lol!

I put them through the two hour "sanitize" wash on my washer, and I'm going to spray, add bleach, and wash again after this.

ITK THANKYOU for the hydrogen peroxide comment. I got it out of the wash and it LOOKED ok. I flipped it inside out and looked at it, but I went ahead and did the HP just in case because it has so many inner layers of bamboo.. as sprayed the peroxide on it a bit, then got sick of spraying and just poured some over it and I HEARD it.

I could HEAR the peroxide fizzing. yuck so disgusting!

So I did that, and I send DH to the store for bleach (we were out). I stuck the fitted back in a hot wash and rinse with some dawn to do a "strip." When DH gets back I'm going to do a regular wash with some bleach. 

I am just disgusted. I came BELIEVE I forgot about that diaper. My planet wise liner is in there with all of it.

After you are done with all the washing, I would sun it too to make sure all the yuckies are killed.

I'm going to do that definitely. We're expecting some great weather tomorrow and saturday. 

I can't seem to get the stain out though. Its a BLACK stain...which sucks because this is my favorite diaper. I've done bleach, HP, dawn..I'm going to try vinegar and lemon next, then oxyclean baby.
