V-8 Juice

When we went to pick up DS from MIL's last night, he was drinking V-8 juice (the original, not V-8 fusion). I don't give him juice at all, but since he like it,  I wondered whether V-8 would be an option for getting more veggies in his diet.  I know it has a lot of sodium, so if I decide to buy any, it will be the lower-sodium variety and I would dilute it with water.  I don't know if this factors in, but DS is 21 months and in the 98th percentile in height and about 60th in weight.

Personally, I wouldn't give it. But, we don't give DD any juice. She's in the 80th percentile for weight and height.

For veggies, sometimes I just give her those little pouches that have fruit and veggies in them. It really helps to get her veggies in for the day and she loves them.

I've also recently discovered these little dehydrated organic bars. They have apple carrot ones that also have other vegetables added.

But, ultimately, you have to do what feels right to you.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where did you find the organic bars?  We already do pouches, and he loves them.

MIL is notorious for feeding DS things she knows I won't like and then acting like a kid who got caught with her hand in the cookie jar. She knows how picky I am about DS's diet. She lives in our neighborhood so DS is over there a lot.  I guess compared to the beenie-weenies and chips she fed him or the gummy bears I saw open, V-8 was actually a good choice. To be  fair, he had canned fruit cocktail too.

I wouldn't do it all the time, but once in awhile here and there is fine IMO.

My toddler likes it too.She only gets the low salt, watered down kind when I have it in the house to make a certain soup recipe I have. So like 4xs a year.

I'm not anti juice though at all. She doesn't get it at home and I don't give it to her but I know grandpa sneaks it to her when she visits, my mom and one of my fave babysitters let her have it once in awhile. Whatever. I'm over it.
