Trying to Get Pregnant

CM Question

This may be gross, sorry!! But I promise I'm not posting a picture Wink

Normally, I usually have an abundance of EWCM all day for 2-3 days on toilet paper, but this cycle has been weird. The day before yesterday I had only one instance (one wipe) of CM.. it looked creamy like lotion but it also stretched quite far (I know, so gross.. I'm sorry!) But it just happened that one time, not all day like usual. And usually my EWCM is clearish.

Also, I was curious if I still had some today so I reached in (ha) and there was more of the same... lotion/creamy looking but also stretched a couple inches.

Would you consider what I'm having creamy CM, or EWCM since it stretched?

TTC makes you do crazy things!! haha

Re: CM Question

  • I'd still call it EW if it stretches that much. Sometimes mine is more opaque, especially if I haven't been drinking as much water as I should be.

  • If it's stretchy, that's the mark of EWCM, and you should always record the most fertile characteristic no matter what mix of CM you might get.

  • Yes that is EWCM.  It can be clear or whitish.  Always mark the most fertile CM you have in a day.

  • Also, I have another question I'm piggybacking onto my first one.

I've been using OPKs this cycle but haven't gotten a positive yet. A couple days ago, it did get progressively darker but never positive, but since then they have gotten lighter.

I only did the tests once with FMU. AlsoI would take the test, go downstairs to have coffee and do some work (I work from home) and then check it about an hour or so later. I assumed if it was positive it would stay positive even after an hour or so, but now I'm wondering if that thinking is completely wrong!

Did you read the instructions for your OPKs?

An hour is well past the time limit. The ones I've used are supposed to be read within 5 minutes and are invalid after 10.

Some ladies here are able to see the surge with FMU but generally, that is not recommended. LH is synthesized in the morning and not metabolised in your urine until later in the day.

You are completely wrong.   It is important that you read the test in the correct time frame.  If you went back and checked hours later all those tests are invalid.

As a PP said, LH tends to peak in the afternoon.  A lot of ladies with test with SMU then again in the afternoon, like between 1-5.  Testing twice a day will help to catch a short surge.
