Sleep Sack

Are you still using one?

We are! DD is too wiggly and just throws the blankets off. Sleep sack keeps her warm and she loves to be barefoot so this way her tootsies are free yet under covers:)

She's climbing furniture but she hasn't attempted to climb in the crib. Probably since she can't lift her let that high with the sleep sack on. Maybe that's a plus and she can hang out in her crib a bit longer :P

Re: Sleep Sack

  • We stopped when she grew out of the last ones (August maybe?). I was all ready to spend another $100 on more and H suggested that we just go cold turkey on sleeping without it. The first night was rough, but after that, no problems.

  • Funny you posted this, I was wondering the same thing. I just bought DS some bigger ones a couple weeks ago. I was surprised that they go all the way up to XL and preschool sizes. I got him a L, he too is too wiggly at night and wouldn't keep a blanket on him so I'd rather know that he's warm enough at night. Maybe once summer comes around or when he outgrows these we won't do it anymore.

where did you get the large ones? I'm having a hard time finding larger sizes and don't really want to spend as much on s&h as on the sleep sack itself so I was going to have my mom make a bigger one. She still fits in the one she has now but it's getting tight... And yah, I was thinking the same: She won't need one in the summer and will hopefully then be transitioning to a blanket ...

  • We're still using the sleep sacks, he's in an XL.  I got 2 in the warehouse section of Amazon where the products are cheaper because they've been returned.  I think they were around $16 each and had free shipping with a $25 purchase.

  • We still use one. I got it off Amazon. DD moves around too much for blankets and it's been cold at night.

  • I still use them as well. She moves around too much to wear a blanket and her room gets really cold. She's in L right now and I bought two XL when they were on babysteals.

I think they have the ones with feet holes in the babysteals archive now, but she walks pretty well in it. She looks like Maggie Simpson  ;)

  • We stopped when ds grew out of his last one. We keep the house at 65at night, and it doesn't bother him. He doesn't sleep with a blanket either, the kid is all over the crib at night!

  • We've stopped using the sleep sack since DS outgrew it in the summer.  We do keep the air on a comfortable level and then put DS in appropriate clothes.  He doesn't use a blanket.

  • I'm with HALO and I'm also a mom and a HALO SleepSack user.  DS2 wouldn't keep blankets on either, and slept in Halo SleepSacks until he was over 2yo.  We used the SleepSack Early Walker ones that have foot holes, and loved them.  He never climbed out of his crib, likely because the SleepSack made it much harder, just as you mentioned.  The SleepSack Early Walker and SleepSack Big Kids styles will be available in a cozy lightweight knit in a couple of weeks.  They are a great solution as we head into spring.  Look for them on amazon.com in the next couple of weeks.
