Ooh! I have an Okkatots carrier that I love and a K'tan that I can't stand. For me, ease of getting baby in is the make/break. Okkatots has a pouch that you load baby in separately. You put on the harness and four clips to attach baby to you! It requires no contorting of yourself or baby. It is super comfy.
I found it on amazon for $80 with free shipping.

I have three and I love them all.
My Ergo is great and will probably get the most long term use, but its pretty bulky for use around the house with a small baby.
My Moby is awesome and once LO is in it I can wear her for hours and do whatever I need to get done. I can bend and reach and move freely without worrying about her.
I also love my ring sling. It's not truly hands free, but its super easy to put on (with practice) and LO does feel secure when I get her in right. I usually keep one in the diaper bag for trips to the grocery store or for when we go out to eat.
My personal suggestion would be to get either a Moby or ring sling for the first while and then get an ergo for when your new babe is bigger.
We also have an Ergo, which I haven't used yet, but like pp said I imagine that is what we'll get the most long term use out of.
We have the baby bjorn miracle and love it. It distributes the weight better than the original bjorn, kind of like the ergo, but with less bulk and no insert needed. Plus baby can face outward eventually.
Last time we had a cheap infantino and it sucked... Very uncomfortable on the back.
