Too late for boba wrap?

I have an ergo 360 baby carrier and love it esp for walking outdoors and even shopping. I'm wondering if anyone has both an ergo type carrier and a wrap carrier and if there is much of a difference. I think I'd like the boba after researching and would like to know if it's worth it to still get for my 7 week old or is it too late and meant more for a newborn?

Re: Too late for boba wrap?

  • Stretchy wraps are great for the first few months, you could still gets lots of use from one. Once babies get heavier then you need a woven wrap for more support. So if the idea of wrapping is what appeals, you could consider a woven to last longer (right through to toddlerhood), but stretchy wraps are easier to learn, and will still last a couple more months.

  • I have a boba and I'm not using it and thing about returning it. I have a hard time getting it on and I feel like it isn't secure. I'm looking into getting an ergo instead.

  • I have an ergo and a moby and right now I'm using the moby way more (almost 5 weeks). I think the ergo will be better for when he's bigger.
  • I use the boda with my almost six week old and I love it and so does he. I plan to use it for awhile
  • I've had my baby in a backpack-style front carrier since he was 2 weeks old. I tried the baby k'tan (wrap-style carrier) this week at almost 8 weeks old and while baby liked it, I found it didn't offer enough back support for me and made my back hurt. I have a big baby though (11 lb 2 oz at 4-week exam so probably at least 13 lbs+ now). No harm in trying it out, as long as you can return it if it doesn't work out!
  • I have the boba wrap and it took a while to figure out that you have to pull it REALLY tight to make it comfortable and sturdy! Once I started making it tight enough, I love it and my baby loves it too. My back usually hurts, but it doesn't hurt at all when the wrap is tight enough and it's really comfortable. I recommend it. It also takes a few tries to get used to putting baby in it, but with some practice it becomes pretty easy.
  • Oh forgot to add that my baby is 4 weeks old and not sure exactly how much he weighs, but I believe he's at least 10 lbs.
  • I am using the Boba wrap my 7 week old and will probably use it until he has head control.
