Bumbleride Indie? is it a jogging stroller?

A friend of mine suggested the bumbleride indie as a jogging stroller. Does anyone have one and use it for this? I was specifically looking at the double stroller, which has two front wheels. It doesn't look much like a jogger. Thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated.

The double does come with a jogging strap standard and has inflatable tires.   According to their website the 2013 version will have a "slightly redesigned frame and aligned front wheel lock to make it more suitable for jogging."

 I am definitely considering this over the BOB as I like the narrower frame.  I don't plan to use it for heavy jogging though.  Just Stroller Strides and some light, low mileage jogging.

We have a single and double. It is definitely my favorite of the strollers we own. I have used both for power walking, maybe a very light jog. They are not made for jogging/running.

If you want an actual jogging/running stroller, I would look at BOB.

It actually is authorized by Bumbleride as a jogging stroller but it's for light jogging only.  I think they say less than 5 miles per week.   I agree that if you want a true jogging stroller, get a BOB.

Just FYI, those changes are only for the Indie, not the Indie Twin.  You can still do light jogging with the current Twin model though.

They advertise all kinds of things as "joggers," but from what I understand the Bumbleride isn't a true jogging stroller, like everyone else said.

The only people who advertise things as joggers (and I would argue that they don't even do this) is the company Baby Jogger.  They aren't saying all their strollers are for jogging but the name is somewhat misleading in that it could make you think that.  I am a stroller nut and I've never seen strollers advertised for jogging that weren't for jogging.  That would be a huge liability on the company if they did that.

Still the fact exists that you can jog with the Indie, again it's not intended for long distances or lots of jogging.  For that you would want a true jogger like a BOB.  I don't know why there is even confusion about this.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should, though. You really need a fixed wheel to safely run with a stroller, which it sounds like they're adding. Is Baby Jogger the ones who make City Mini? Because you certainly can't run safely with those.

On my 2011 Indie you can lock the front wheel in place.  My husband has jogged with it, but only a couple of miles at a time.

No Bumbleride stroller is a jogger. It has not passed any of the standards of testing to be a jogging stroller. Anything they suggest you can do with the stroller is the extend of what their lawyers say they can say without being out of line. So all in all they are using the words to their benefit but it is NOT a jogger.
