Cheese

I know we can start soft cheeses, but what kind do you give??  What brand do you prefer and what type of cheese exactly.... I'm lost!

Have you done cottage cheese??

Thanks!

Re: Cheese

  • We did cottage cheese a couple of times, DD only ate it once.  She LOVES string cheese, she gets it every day.  I also started mixing shredded cheddar cheese in with her scrambled eggs (she wouldn't eat them plain).

  • i was wondering the same thing... has anyone done Kraft Singles?  Are those too gross and processed??
  • I was thinking string cheese!  What kind? Polly-o, kraft, store brand?  And I want the 2% milk ones right??  I couldn't find any with whole milk.  That was my biggest question!

Then you just cut it up into smaller pieces right?

I wouldn't do the kraft singles, only because I don't like the way they taste.  It tastes so fake to me.  I was also thinking of just getting American cheese slices from the deli, but sliced on the thicker side.

We buy the Frigo "Cheese Head" mozzarella, 2%, but any of them are fine. I just pull off a thin strip and DD bites pieces off.  I have also purchased Provolone string cheese for DH and DD loves it too, it just doesn't "string" very well.  The first cheese she ever had was a Kraft single and she loves them too. If you're going to get deli cheese I don't think you need to get it sliced thicker.  I fold the singles into strips and then into pieces.  DD just bites pieces off.  If I give her pieces that are too small she has trouble picking them up because cheese sticks to her tray.
