Do you remember taking standardized tests in school?

In elementary school, we had to take citywides in various subjects, and you ranked on a percentile basis.

We were always told to bring 2 sharpened number 2 pencils, and sucking candy.

I get the pencils, but what was with the candy? It was such a big deal to stop off at the local bodega and pick up a roll of lifesavers and box of nerds. I still don?t know the reasoning behind that. I wonder if they even do it anymore.

That?s my random thought for the morning.

Hm, I remember the tests and bringing pencils, but we were never told to bring candy. ?Maybe it was to keep you awake and alert?
