Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Stopped Rolling Over?

My LO is crawling all around but if he accidently flips to flat on his back he can no longer roll back to his stomach and hasn't been able to for a month (since he started crawling).  Otherwise he's very mobile and can get where he wants to go. We try to leave him to figure it out but he just screams for help!  Anyone else have this issue?  I'm assuming he's just so busy with his crawling that's he's forgotten he can do this and his getting frustrated before trying anything.  Correct me if this is something development wise that I need to worry about?

When his is flat on his back he tries to just sit straight up like a sit-up.  Anyone know when they typically can do this?  If he could get to sitting, he can flip to his knees and lie down.  This would help things at night.

  • I'm pretty sure they normally put themselves in the sitting position somewhere between 6-9 months. Also, I don't think you have anything to worry about with the rolling. My daughter did the same thing for awhile. Now she remembered she can do it and is rolling all over the house! :)
