Re: Williamsburg, VA

  • Yes! I used to live in VA Beach, and DH and I would go there for weekend get aways from time to time. It had some great restaurants and site seeing. Strongly recommend the restaurant Trellis....it had been years since we've been, but I think that was the name.

  • I haven't been since I was in middle school maybe?  It was neat though.  We went to Colonial Williamsburg and to Busch Gardens and they were both a lot of fun.

  • I love Williamsburg. We usually stay here https://www.colonialwilliamsburg.com/stay/williamsburg-lodge.

We stayed here once when someone gave us their time share week and it was pretty nice

  • I've been there 3 or 4 times. I really like it! The historic/colonial stuff is pretty awesome, though maybe not oodles of fun for a LO? But maybe. Gavin likes to just walk around. We went with my family last summer and took Gavin to Busch Gardens when he was about 8 months old. There would definitey be more for him to do at this age. They have a little kid play area called the Land of the Dragons that's pretty neat. He loved the carosel, and the water park.

We stayed at my mom's timeshare, which I linked below and I think anyone can rent rooms if they want. They have a really awesome pool area with a slide and little kid play area with water spraying palm trees, turtles, etc. The rooms were great too and it's right across from Busch Gardens. It would get my rec.

ETA The Williamsburg Winery is nice too! Smile

  • I think we will stop in Baltimore for a night to visit my brother, then do Greatwolf for a night or two, head to Williamsburg for about 3 days and hit up DC for a night on our way home! Thanks ladies!

  • We went there last year as part of our road trip. We enjoyed it! We stayed at a Hotel just around the corner from Historic Williamsburg and were only 5 minutes away from the visitors center. DD was about 7 months old at the time and she loved looking at all the people in costumes. There is also a lot of free space where kids and run around and play.

There were a lot of other activites to do in williamsburg itself (theme parks, etc). We just did historic williamsburg that day, but I am sure there is tons you can find to do around there. We will probably go back at some point!

After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011!
