I am thinking about this years in advance but I have a Juliet (nickname Jules) and love Genevieve (nickname Vivi prounced vee-vee). Too matchy with the J sound and somewhat French?
No, they are not too close in my opinion. I actually like them together a lot. Yes, they do have the same beginning sound and the same number of syllables, but the fact that they start with a different letter and would have very different nicknames helps differentiate them. Plus, other than the beginning sound, all the other prominent vowel and consonant sounds are different.
Overall, do you find alliterative names too similar for siblings? Would you be okay with sisters named Adelaide and Amabel, or Lorelei and Linnea, or Cecily and Seraphine, or Audrey and Olive?
I think I personally like the last two pairings better since they start with different letters, just like Juliet and Genevieve.
I think Juliet flows beautifully with Genevieve as a sibset! Although they weren't sisters, or even related, this reminds me of two of the cutest and sweetest girls I knew in high school: Julie we called her Jules and Genevieve she went by Genna which sounds like Jenna.
