People saying they get butthurt by being skipped are just fishing for compliments.
I could care less if one person on this board compliments me. I just don't get why we need threads like this once a day, once a week or whatever to announce the same people that are liked, not liked, would be friends, wouldn't be, etc.
Clearly you do care if you threatened to GBCB over it.
Am I taking this shiit to serious?
IMO, yes. Don't worry about it. There are people who are on here a lot. Tey participate in tons of threads. As a result they have found themselves getting close to other Bumpies that also post a lot, or have similar view points as they do. That's great for them.
Presonally, I'm not on here enough to know who I love or who's similar to me and that's ok too. If I wanted to forge stronger relationships on here I would dedicate more time, but I don't. And that's ok too.
Edit: bumping while on the phone with a coworker = using "that's ok too" twice! Gah!
. Unless you're Toni. She is magically able to know everything about everyone and actually care enough to remember and ask follow up questions 10 days after the original thread was posted.
.For real...I think she's a brain sucker. I'm fairly certain that my brain now belongs to Toni.
This is Toni...except instead of children...brains.
Bahaha. My tits are just as big, but don't look that great in a push-up bra for sure.
I'm not sure how to take this, except to feel guilty (because I have major guilt issues...I was raised Catholic mmkay?).
Everyone around here is noticed. I think. There are plenty of people that don't post that often that I would hope feel part of this community. Often times well-known regs, like Rora and LL, get skipped in those threads because I think it's just a given. We all "know" them, they're awesome and would want to hang out with them. And who wouldn't want a DD these days?
As for those that feel like they were skipped, people's minds are fickle. They remember the last thing they read. So if it's been a few days since you posted, they've forgotten to name you. If you post in that thread, I can guarantee someone will name you. It's just how it works.
And LLHR, I obviously agree with you because, oh yeah, I didn't name names either.
Oh and my memory sucks. DH is constantly tricking me into thinking I said things when I didn't because it sucks. It's hilarious everyone thinks I have a good memory.
Oh and I don't mind panty lines either. I'm too lazy to wear heels or thongs lately. Or shave my legs. Sexy.
I prefer to dress my son in non-animal themed clothing. Unless I had a hedgehog themed outfit. Then he would definitely wear that. Forever.
This. My DD didn't wear animated themed clothing either, still doesn't. I have found though that it's harder to find clothes for boys without characters and such on it. Very frustrating!
I guess my UO is that it's unsmart (because I'm sure people would get pissed if I said stupid) for one person to have control of allllll the moneys to the point where the other is clueless.
yes. I manage most of our bill payments and financial ish. But H certainly knows how to do it too.
Can I piggyback in a different direction?(and this isn't directed at you or your comment, Steph)
Accusing couples of having trust issues because one person handles the finances is ridic.
Same with the shared FB page thing.
I'm not saying it never happens, but jumping to that conclusion leads me to think that you have trust issues of your own.
Sorry Steph but the load just got heavier I am piggybacking this too
I side eye any person who takes no interest in their finances. I mean your SO takes care of the bills? Great but don't you want to know what is happening with your money?
My SO does all financial things because i cant budget haha sad i know but it works great for us i know how to get to accts and stuff so if i need to.know things its there for me to get but other than that i just have an "allowance" lol if you can call it that

Ok, seriously folks. I am terrible with names. I know a lot of people by siggies but I never look at their name. Unless you are on my post it (Yeah, I have a post it for dumshit posters that have said heinous things) or you are my e-bestie, I probably don't know your name. Not that I don't know you as a poster, but It's hard to say, "that one girl with the kid in her picture that is bronze maybe and has good ideas."
Hahaha...at the music festivals I go to...inevitably, there is some guy that is totally spun that comes up asking if we saw a hippie wearing tie dye and a backpack and if so, which way did he go? lol... ummmm....look around dude, they're EVERYWHERE. It's now a running joke in my crew.

Yay, Grammar!
"Let's eat, Grandma!" vs "Let's eat Grandma!"
"We invited the strippers, *** Cheney and Margaret Thatcher." vs "We invited the strippers, *** Cheney, and Margaret Thatcher." Serial comma FTW. Though disturbing either way.
ETA: Good Gracious, Bump, Diiick is a name. Be smarter and figure out when I'm using it as a name, k?
LLHR, why is it okay for you to make a separate call out "ILY" post to Toni, but not okay for everyone to do it in one big thread? I feel left out. Why didn't you include me in that thread? Are we not friends? Don't you like me? It makes zero sense to me.
For the record...I didn't participate in the IRL thread, I'm not usually called out as a favorite, my butt is not hurt, but after reading this longazz post my head sure is.
I have no desire to go on a cruise. I just don't understand it.
I feel like we are long lost siblings haha.
I agree. I have no urge to cruise. You have to pay for your drinks? WTF. I am going all inclusive where I can get drunk off my damn chair and not have to pay for it.
I agree! I actually went on one a few years ago, and was so motion sick the entire time. Nothing like puking through a vacation.
I'm going crazy reading posts recently about hoo has and pee pees. I'd rather people just say vag, penis, etc. my kid will totally be that toddler who is talking about penises instead of wee wees, and I'm cool with that.
I thought this was not an UO, but judging from the recent posts, maybe it is?
My mom taught me to say vagina. I can remember being so confused in about 1st grade when my best friend was telling me her peaches were itchy.
LLHR, why is it okay for you to make a separate call out "ILY" post to Toni, but not okay for everyone to do it in one big thread? It makes zero sense to me.
ETA I thought my computer ate my first post, but apparently it didn't. Sorry, guise.
I think you're over thinking it Spoof. I think her point (or someone's point on here, maybe Rora's actually), is that you wouldn't go into a room of 30 people and name 15 you like. People will feel left out. However, other threads like the Compliment a Bumpie where you are supposed to compliment the ONE person that posted before you is different (even though some people get skipped because of timing of posts). KWIM?

Completely agree!!! DH calls Hunter's penis a pee-pee, and I told him we aren't going to call it that. (FTW)
I also hate the word boo-boo for a scrape or cut. It is so ugly. Boo-boo is Yogi's bear pal.
My UO: I started sleep training DS when he was 4 mo. It involved some crying but wasn't necessarily CIO. My PPD actually helped make the crying bearable.
I guess that was half UO and half pitiful!
We do this too. He now takes 2 hour naps and STTN most of the time. We let him cry max 10mins and he usually goes back to sleep.
We never let him cry more than 10 min. originally either. Then the 4 month wakeful started and the pedi suggested we go a little longer. It wasn't bad though. With my DD I had the hardest time hearing her cry so it would have never worked for us!
My UO is that I love TSwift and I will be going to her concert in Philly this July with my mom and sisters.
Also? Reid loves her too. He'll quiet down in the car as soon as I put one of her songs on. Now DH listens to her JUST for that very reason (and hates every minute of it, I might add.)
::: I knew you were trouble when you walked innnnn :::
what is hard about eating right and getting to a gym?
It's not that simple for a lot of people. Genetics plays a huge roll in body size and how you carry weight. Also, if there are any thyroid or hormonal imbalances some people pack on the pounds while eating right and going to a gym. And for some people who have to work 3 jobs and have a family, going to a gym on a regular basis isn't going to happen. Nothing is more irritating to me that people judging overweight people without knowing anything about them.
what is hard about eating right and getting to a gym?
Thyroid issues, depression, disability, etc. And, please don't say..."I mean the people who are just fat" because really...you have no way of knowing what is going on with them.

what is hard about eating right and getting to a gym?
Ok that is SO easy! My husband and I both work 40+ hours a week and make enough to pay the bills but not enough to pay for a gym membership. I agree with PP that it is sad that you judge overweight people. I judge myself enough and having other people judge me keeps me from asking for help. I have done pretty much every diet out there but starve myself, I have worked my @ss off in and out of gyms for YEARS, and I have taken more pills and powders than I would like to admit.
I think it is rude of you to assume that you are a better person or better at all because apparently you are not overweight! Thanks for that!
I also agree with PP's that this is the worst use of an AE yet!
what is hard about eating right and getting to a gym?
Seriously...?
I've always been really tall and really skinny. (i know, i know, cry me a river)
It was impossible for me to put on weight. When I was 19 I went on a 3,000 calorie diet and worked out with a personal trainer 3 days a week. After six months, I'd only gained 5 pounds.
Not everyone's body is easily affected by diet and exercise.
what is hard about eating right and getting to a gym?
Not much gets me to post in the UO, but this? Really? Are you just stupid? I guess that is rhetorical because you had to create an AE to post this.
Maybe you should run for presidency and solve the world problems. You make it so easy. Just eat right and go to the gym. Le sigh. Why didn't I think of that.
Cause no one ever feels hurt or excluded from the compliment a bumpie type of threads? In what alternate universe?
So, we should never compliment or tell people we like them because someone might get hurt?
I'm going to jump in and say that it's always the same bumpies who get complimented and it gets really old IMO. Thread like this make me more and more ready to stop posting on TB all together. I've realized that after a year of posting I still don't feel like I fit in and I'm sorta over the, who do you like and don't like threads. Anyway, I'm sure this will get over looked per my usual posts but whatever. Or I'll get bashed but that wouldn't be surprising either. Maybe I'm just over sensitive today because I'm on my period but I'm totally over it all....
I like you Megroons! We are in the same boat. Not popular, but not disliked (at least I hope)
Re the IRL Friends post, I think Tara said it best. The obvious, frequent posters obviously get mentioned the most, as will anyone who posted in the post or recently. It's just... I don't know, Bump physics or something. I didn't get mentioned until I participated. I probably wouldn't have been mentioned had I not participated. W/e. And honestly, I think there was actually a pretty broad swath of Bumpies that got mentioned in there.
But anyway, Samoas and Thin Mints For LYFE! (whatever that means :P)

Yeah.. There's been a few times where we let him go a little longer because we KNOW he's tired. Plus, after a few minutes we can tell if he's going to go sleep by the sound of the cry. It works for us!

yes. I manage most of our bill payments and financial ish. But H certainly knows how to do it too.
I agree. I just can't seem to communicate to H that he needs to help out/learn. I don't exclude him from the process on purpose. He just has zero interest in knowing what is going on. It is super frustrating.
I'm just getting back to this and I'm sure the "convo" on it is already over to the point where adding more will be pointless, BUT I'm gunna anyway.
I don't mind having control of the monies...it's just what happened. My H is great...really. He CAN do stuff with money. He did for a long time before we were together. BUT, he doesn't handle it as well as I do. there's a lot that goes into this...like the fact my H can be super super shy, so if he ever has to call the bank, a company or a bill holder to work out an issue, he freezes up...this is why I end up taking it over. He also mismanaged a lot of money in his past and is holding some pretty substantial credit card debt. I am trying to work us out of the hole he built in his single days, but it is slow going and hard. I think that kind of gave him some PTSD when it came to bills. He shuts down a little. That's what I meant when I said I didn't feel he could "handle it".
That is understandable. H's parents never taught him the basics of handling money. They never saved (and still don't) and lived pay check to pay check. I'd like him to be more involved but I can only push the issue so much.
I'm definitely no saint when it comes to handling finances (paying for a semester of grad school with a credit card = poor decision) but I would like us both to do better so we can teach the kiddos to make good decision.
I don't understand everyone's propensity to constantly blow each other on here, nor do I get the need to be blown. But I admit I enjoy reading the threads.
I like everyone on here, and I'd hang out with anyone. But I'm kinda tired of taking on the role of defending & comforting people. I'm finally jaded.
My UO is that I think it's awesome to not wear much makeup. With the exception of work stuff, I love setting the bar low. Nobody ever sees me without makeup and thinks 'da fuq?' Last night I thought my friend's eyes fell off her face Mr. Potato Head style, but then I realized that in 15 years I had never seen her without eye makeup.
