I left my full time job after DD was born and started working part time in the evening so that I could stay home during the day. DH works approx 8:00am-5:00 pm, and then i work from 6:00pm-10:00pm Monday through Thursday and most of the day on Saturday. So the only time i really see DH is friday evening, saturday evening, and Sunday. Sunday is family day since its the only day the three of us are together all day.
This schedule is really wearing on me. I am exhausted from caring for DD when DH gets home, but i have to go to work as soon as he walks in the door. Then i dont get to bed until 11:00, then i'm up twice overnight with LO, and then up for the day around 6:45. The hardest thing is that i miss DH. We hardly ever get to see eachother.
On the bright side, i get to be with DD all day and DH gets to do bedtime with her every night, and we dont have to pay for daycare. I am sacrificing time with my DH to get more time with DD by working evenings. But man, this is getting tough. I am super tired and drained all the time. In a few months i might be able to cut my hours back and maybe just work 2-3 days a week instead of 5 days. Depends on if DH gets a raise, his boss has been hinting at one.
thanks for listening to my vent. DH is hating this situation more than me, he tries to get me to quit every day but we both know that is just not financially reasonable right now. Someday i will see him again, lol!
Re: hating this work arrangement
I don't have any advice, but I wanted to say that I'm sorry you are going through this. Hang in there and just know that you are one strong momma!!
Do you have any family near by or someone that can watch DD while you and DH go out to dinner??
Hugs!!

Thanks!! We do have a lot of family around so we are able to do a date night pretty often. My mom is offering to take her overnight this Saturday but i am on the fence about it....she has spent the night there before but I just feel uneasy when she isnt home with me overnight
I know what you mean!!! It always seems like a good idea until it's time for it to happen....Oddly enough, I don't sleep as well when he isn't at home with me lol!
