BRU - trade in event vs coupons

Which is better?  Thinking ahead as I think we'll need to spend about $1000 for convertible car seats.  I've seen past advertisements for BRU trade-in event but also know that the coupons typically have lots of exclusions.  Any experience or suggestions?

    I used both.  I got my $160 Safety First car seat for $96 or something like that.  They also price match the website price!
