Trouble TTC

New to The Bump; Trouble TTC

It's been a few months now that I've been trying to get pregnant, and nothing seems to be working. Granted, I do have PCOS( polycystic ovarian syndrome) so I know it may be difficult for me to get pregnant....however I am a very inpatient person !! LOL

I made an appointment with a fertility specialist in hopes that they can rule out any other possible problems. That may be my greatest fear.

Re: New to The Bump; Trouble TTC

  • Hello, welcome to The Bump. You may feel more comfortable on the "Trying to Get Pregnant" board since most/all of us have been ttc for over a year and are going through fertility treatments. Many women who have PCOS get pregnant without difficulty so I really do wish you luck. There are many PCOS women on the TTGP board as well. You are welcome to come back to us if you have no luck after a year, but I really hope you don't have to. I wouldn't with IF (infertility) issues on anyone. Good luck!

  • Why are you jumping to a fertility specialist after a few months trying? IMPATIENCE IS NOT A FERTILITY ISSUE. Go to TTGP and leave us alone.
  • Just because you have PCOS, doesn't mean you can't conceive. I'm a very impatient person too but this isn't in your hands sometimes, even women who have multiple IVF attempts still don't conceive....I recommend waiting 12 months to start fertility testing and at that time, have your husband do SA too. Good luck

  • Dealing with PCOS can be frustrating but isn't the end of the world. You should go to TTGP until you have reached one year of trying unless you are older than 35. In the meantime, talk with your gynie about ways to manage your PCOS. I really wish you the best of luck!

    This.

There are many women who conceive naturally with PCOS.  Unless you have a reason to see a specialist (several annovulatory cycles, 12 months of TTC with no success, etc.) there is no need just because you have PCOS. Head to the TTGP board and learn about charting your BBT.
