What kind of thermometer do you use?

I just bought the behind the ear Vicks one and it doesn't seem to be accurate at all. DS had a fever tonight of 102.7 ( taken with the temporal forehead one) and the Vicks said 97.6. I took it at least 9 times, no fever registered on it. 

What are you all using? And are you doing it under the arm, ear,  forehead, etc?

Under the arm. My temporal forehead one doesnt seem to work right. I hope she can hold a regular digital in her mouth soon.

We have a Braun ear thermometer and really like it.  If I need to be exact though I still use the rectal.

i have found ours to be most accurate right behind her ear lobe.

Exergen Temporal (forehead) Thermometer. Worth every cent! The under the arm ones take forever to beep to say they are done and my DD never wants to keep her arm held down. The ear one is slightly better than that but most of the time when my DD has had fevers, it is because she has an ear infection so I don't want to be using that if her ear hurts. I can't say enough good things about the Exergen.
