Godparents

So my situation is complicated as we don't have brothers and sisters ....no family on my side in the state! We struggled hard enough to decide on best man and maid of honor...basically the couples we have in mind are from here.... godparents is just an honor right? How do you choose I think either friend will be equally devastated... do you pick a whole couple or one from each... Id like to have gf be the god mama BC she wasn't my maid of honor... this would kill my MOH and she's probably gonna be the one to offer to do my bridal shower.. I'm pretty sure that's just how she is... I think not picking.her If she offers could be bad too : omg help any opinions! My friends fiance has now randomly brought up godparents talk twice since he found out so I'm pretty they want to be just as much as my MOH would! I cringe at the idea of making a choice!

    No, I got married in September... its equally important to me but one couple we would go with the couple together who are getting married this July the other couple it would only be the wife we'd be choosing... that's where it matters....personllay my god

    Godparents won't be announced for a loong time, but it is on my mind! And a friend has brought it up twice... they also don't really get along :/

    For our daughter, we chose my brother as godfather and one of our mutual best friends as godmother. They are both Godly people who we hope will have a real relationship and influence over our daughter as she grows up.

    I was going to say the same thing a pp said re: being Catholic. If you are planning to baptize your children in the Catholic, there are some rules. Do both friends meet that?

    While I am not religious if I were to pick Godparents that were different than who I would want my kids to go with if we passed away I would make a Will and put who I want my kids to go to.  Your kids do not have to go to the Godparents.  We mad
