Introducing milk and dairy

We see our GI doc in about a month and I'm just curious about how and when people usually introduce milk to a milk allergy baby. We use elecare formula now. What about first birthday cakes? Do docs rec trying soy milk first (dd had reaction to soy too). Dd is almost 9 months. She also has severe reflux. What foods did your baby do good with or not do good with? Thx for any input!
