If you have used this method and EBF, I have a couple questions:
1 Once LO started to teeth or got sick, how badly were they thrown off each time they got past it? I would absolutely have to pick up and comfort my baby immediately if he is in pain from teething or being sick.
2 If they go to daycare with bottles, did you increase the amount of milk? DS already takes 3 5oz bottles at daycare. I know everyone on here says BF babies shouldn't take more than 5 oz max per bottle. Or did LO naturally add a nursing session during the day to make up for any night feedings?
3 Did LO stop ALL night feedings or do you still do a MOTN feeding? I have no problem at all with DS still doing a night feeding, but it kinda goes against the book. It seems as though picking them up sometimes when they cry but not other times is confusing to them. It does mention doing a dream feed before bed. Anyone tried that with this method?
4 How did you deal with growth spurts? The book doesn't address this that I can see.
5 Anyone still allow LO a paci?
Any other tips?
TIA!
Re: Sleepeasy Solution and EBF
1) LO has gotten 2 colds since starting and it hasn't thrown her off. Growth spurts, on the other hand, was a different story.
2) LO is getting 3 5oz bottles at DC (she was getting 4.5oz). She did not change how often she nurses.
3). Well, when I first started she was waking 3 to 4 times a night. I night weaned except I kept a 4 am feeding. Big mistake. 4 am turned into 3, then 2, then 1 and 3, and we were back at 11,1, 3, 5. So, I had to start the training all over again, which was way worse then the first time around. I think it might have been a growth spurt. I am currently still weaning at 11 and 3 am and we are down to 4 minutes tonight.
4) read above
5) she gets a paci first thing when she goes down. 99.99% of the time it comes out within a minute, and then she just babbles to sleep. That is the on,untimely she gets it.
be consistent. I think that's how I got back to 4 night wakings again....i was tired and didn't feel like listening to her cry. I think if I stuck it out it would have improved more quickly!
