Just wondering how many have shared the news of their pregnancy so far? And if you have how far along were you and if you haven't how long are you waiting?

i shared my news with a select few people right away but shared with more after my 9 week appt.  I had to share with work at that time due to the nature of my job... The share went fine, but I've had a couple people make comments regarding that I shared "so early"!?!? It's now making me super paranoid that something's going to happen!  

 

p.s. edit: we did have n U/S and heartbeat at first appt

I, like you, shared a little early this time around because I am actually having to go back to work earlier to qualify again for mat leave.  So my work friends were going to figure it out for sure.  I felt weird though about telling work friends and not our parents, so we told our parents this week before I told some coworkers today.  I agree, it's a bit early...but more so that people are going to be staring at your stomach and asking you how you're feeling a lot longer (annoying!).

I'm telling the world on valentines day. I will bo over 14 weeks then. Have only told immediate family so far due to previous loss.

we told family by christmas time. I waited until after my ultrasound this past monday to make sure everything was progressing smoothly before I started telling others. I started telling coworkers this week, my friends this weekend, and the teams I work with at work next week.

We have told immediate family, and a few close friends.  I have not told any of my best girl friends that live out of town.  I keep thinking I'll wait until after my N/T scan/12 week appointment...but I dunno.

We shared with our parents and a few close friends at 5 weeks. My coworkers found out right away at like 3-4 weeks because I was doing fertility treatments and I got the call when I was at work. We are going to wait to tell everyone else either after our 9 week appt or after 12 weeks. Idk how much longer I can hold out.

I haven't told anyone yet. I didn't tell people until I absolutely had to with DD, and will do the same with this pregnancy. I'm kind of a private person, and definitely don't like all of the attention pg ladies get, it's overwhelming! We are planning to tell our families around valentines day, around 13 weeks. I may tell my office then too, but I haven't decided. 

 As far as the people commenting about sharing too early- you can't jinx yourself into having a m/c, so don't worry about it. People are such busybodies when it comes to pregnancy. Everyone has so much advice and opinions, take it all with a grain of salt, and tell whenever you feel like it.

We told our immediate families. No friends yet. We are telling one of our best couple friends (and neighbors) tonight (11W)! Since we have kinda been avoiding them and feel bad:( Extended family at 12W. Friends after the NT scan. 13W

I like your comment of you can't "jinx yourself" into a m/c. That's a great perspective to look at it from. . Thanks

We told everyone after my 2nd appointment at 11 weeks.

We shared with our parents and grandparents at Christmas when I was just over 5 weeks. After my 8 week appt we told a few close friends. Now we are waiting until the 12 week appt to make it public knowledge.

Hi, we also shared the news with family and close friends right away. Today we announced it to everyone (I am only 9 weeks). I know it may be a little early, but the u/s came back showing a healthy baby and we are so excited that we wanted to share it with others. Unless you have a reason to be worried, try not to stress about it.

I shared with everyone as soon as I got a positive HPT. I have a really hard time trying to hide something or keep something from people.

We haven't told anyone yet because my family lives out of state and I wanted to wait to tell them in person.  Luckily we already had a trip planned, so it's only 11 more days till we tell them!  I'll be almost 10 weeks.  Last time we told them at 6 weeks (again due to the fact that we were in town) so I'm kinda glad we got to wait a little longer this time, since I had a miscarriage at a little over 5 weeks back in September.  Had an ultrasound 2 days ago and things look great, so I feel confident about telling them.  We're flying, so my daughter is going to wear a shirt that says "only child until August 2013" and I can't wait to see their reactions at the airport!!  We'll wait to tell everyone else till 12 or 13 weeks.

We haven't told anyone (even our parents). We're waiting until the next appt (Feb 11).

I shared with everyone I plan on sharing with at 3w6d. Friends and family were all told that day. I think my husband told his closest friends and his co-workers over the following week. Word of mouth has informed a ton of other people. But no more "announcements".

Personally I think you should tell at least someone early on. And if someone asks why you're telling "so early" I'd just say you're choosing to be optimistic and explain that you'd need support if the worst happened.

We told our families at Christmas and I told a couple close friends around then too. We saw baby on u/s and saw hb a few days after Christmas. We have been telling friends as we see them since then. I will tell the world ie FB and extended family next week after my 12week appointment so long as we hear hb and everything still seems good.

I haven't decided for sure if I'm going to announce on fb yet or not! I don't know if I want all that attention lol.  However...knowing me I'm sure I will give in, but it wont be until after our next appt which is 13+ weeks.
