I've posted on here a couple of times that I'm really unhappy in my current position. Well, on Monday I accepted a position with a large company in Virginia. So, in late March we are moving from California to Virginia. Sadly, we will have to celebrate LO's birthday a couple of weeks early because she and I are flying to Virginia on the weekend after her birthday and DH isn't joining us for another week. Also, we currently live about 2 miles from my in-laws, who were really unhappy that we were considering moving. DH still hasn't told them that I accepted the offer. Telling them is going to be ugly and they'll likely throw guilt trips at us for the next two months.
We're excited, sad, scared, and every other emotion you can imagine. There's really no point to this post other than to say, OMG WE'RE MOVING TO VIRGINIA!
Re: Moving across country
Congratulations on the new position. It can be hard to live away from family members--we've never lived near family--but sometimes that's what needs to be done.
Will this put you closer to your family?

YAY!! congrats on your new job and your new life! It will be sooooo exciting. Yes your in-laws will be sad, but if it helps, we actually see my in-laws who live out of state more often than my folks who live across town. When the in-laws come to visit we set aside time that is just their time and we all get to play and "enjoy" it (and they come visit 1 to 2x's a year). not like my folks who we only see for a couple of hours here and there because day-to-day life is hectic.
I hope you love virginia and I wish you the best of luck
Thank you to all for the support!
Unfortunately, this puts us further away from my family too (someone asked that). DH told his parents last night. It should make for a fun drop off this morning (MIL watches LO). On the up side, last night we were looking at the houses we could buy for less in northern Virginia than our townhouse here in Los Angeles. That got us excited!
