I'm just wondering what many of you who have done rounds of IVF have paid? Also, how were you able to pay it? My husband and I are just starting our fertility journey and soon I know the other shoe is going to drop with costs considering my insurance only covers diagnosis and tests regarding infertility, no treatment.
So did your clinic work with you on paying and how so? Any good advice for someone just getting introduced to struggling with infertility and affording IVF or IUI?

Re: IVF
DH and I are in the same shoes. All diagnosis and testing was covered but IVF is 100% OOP. We financed 2/3 of it through a company our clinic works with and the other 1/3 was a loan from my in-laws.
I believe IUI can be a lot more reasonable (cost wise) but it's not an option for everyone.
My advice would be to look into it if it is something you really want to do and find out what your options are.
Good luck!!
I did medicated TI and IUI cycles with one clinic. Then I transferred to a different RE for IVF (they just have better stats and are very well known). I paid for testing as I did it. It was probably about $3,000. There was: hystosonogram, hysteroscopy, day 3 labs, lupron trigger test, semen analysis and profile, dna fragmentation test, etc. I already had about a bazillion general labs already (glucose tolerance test, blood panel, thyroid, etc). Then meds were probably $3,500 total - paid before they would fill the order. I paid for labs and ultrasounds for one round of IVF at $6,000 ,anesthesia for ER at $500, and the cost of actual IVF from the clinic at $8,000 before my cycle could begin. Now I'm in between ER and ET. I'll have to pay an additional $1,000 for freezing extra embies. I'll also need to pay for my pregnancy test, additional progesterone and estrogen if it's positive, and ultrasounds and monitoring until week 10 or 12.
It's expensive. We are able to do it thanks to gifts from both sets of parents. My office is one of the more expensive. Your office should be able to give you an outline of costs.
