City micro as umbrella stroller?

Is the city micro meant to be used as an umbrella stroller? We have an uppa vista that I love but I need something more lightweight for air travel. Target had a huge stack of city micros for 100, which seems to be a good deal but they were broken down in the box, so I couldn't play with it. Any reviews, especially from those familiar with the vista?

Re: City micro as umbrella stroller?

  • I am not familiar with the Vista, but I think the Mirco is a lot like the B-agile. I have been watching my Target mark them down. They are currently at $99, and should be marked down again next week. I plan on getting one. I played with one at the store and loved it! The canopy is huge, the recline is nice and it folds up great. I would prefer an adjustable handle, a bigger basket and a cup holder but if I get one at $60, I won't complain.

  • I currently have a Uppa Baby Vista and am also considering the Micro as well (also because of the sale/price at Target). One of our stores had one so I tested it out. It's definitely a lot lighter in terms of weight and is easier to fold as well. It folds up really small, but more like a square (like the uppababy) rather than being long like an umbrella. Size-wise it's definitely smaller than the UBV but the wheel width in the back is still fairly wide (although again not as wide as the UBV).

Overall, I think it's a great second stroller for what you mentioned needing it for. I'm looking for an umbrella stroller to use for quick trips and I just can't decide if it's THAT much difference to make it worth it. I currently have an almost 3 year old and a baby due in March. We have a Maclaren that I love but it needs replaced soon. If I can get the Micro for $60 then I'm definitely getting it though. In terms of travel and having a different stroller for that, I think it's worth the $100.
