I was on the Nest for a long time and have been lurking on this board a little bit. I have one child, but for various reasons DH and I waited a long time to decide to be ready to TTC #2 and now I am 41. I didn't start charting closely and using OPK's until this cycle but we were trying for three months before that. Our timing was good this month but based on the way I am feeling right now I really think AF is on her way so another month of BFN.
Our first child was conceived on the first try so I am not used to these cycles of trying and then waiting and then being disappointed and I have to say I am having a really hard time with this. It does not help that I am emotional due to PMS and also have a feeling that we just waited too freaking long and this will not happen. My OB who I loved retired several months ago and the practice I am currently in is a nightmare as far as getting appointments, etc. so I am switching to someone I am hoping will be more proactive.
So how do you not obsess over your cycles and make yourself crazy? And because of my age it is not too early to go for intervention right? Are there any success stories out there that may give me some hope as I am losing faith fast.
TIA
Re: Introducing myself - having a hard time...
Welcome to the board Tia, how not to obsess over my cycles? hmmmmm I do obsess, but I limit obsession from O to AF. It is possible, just go browse the pregnant >35 board, lots of ladies over there and I know one of the ladies is at least 41...at this age many of need a little or a lot of help so don't waste much time at the OB, get to an RE. Ob are in the business of birthing, RE are in teh business of getting you pregnant!!
Don't lose hope, you must remain positive or its just going to be a miserable time for you.

Thanks also on the advice about the RE. I do have the number of one I intend to call - I thought it would be best to talk to the OB/GYN first but maybe that is not necessary?
