Transition to crib

my 6 mo old has been sleeping in mom and dads bed and now trying to get him to sleep in crib at night.  He sleeps in there the first few hes if we put him in there while asleep. He cries and cries and ends up in our bed.  Any suggestions?  I do nurse him in bed so he is used to sleeping next to me..

try putting the crib mattress in your room and then move it to the crib once he is used to that, or start with naps and have him get used to the crib. I would suggest if you are going to let him cry just do that or have him sleep in your bed still, if he cries and then ends up in your bed then he will continue to cry knowing that he will end up in your bed.

This is us exactly. Ds is almost 8 mths now and still sleeps with us. We just initially put him in his crib and he will sleep a good 3-4 hrs then ends up in ours. Slowly but surely he sleeps longer and longer in there. Oh and we moved his crib to our room bc I was having too much seperation anxiety from him bc we r so use to sleeping next to him. GL!
