Admitted for pre-e

They had me under 24hr observation last night - decided to go ahead and keep me until I deliver. BP has been hovering at the threshold around 150s/90s day time, 130s/80s night time. If I start going over 100 dys regularly, they'll start me on mag or whatnot. If I hit the 110s they'll probably induce. Been advised that we're delivering by the 21st at the latest. Not even actually finished with the first 24hrs here in the hospital and I'm already going out of my mind and feeling like crap from laying around too much.

Re: Admitted for pre-e

  • Sorry,  My severe pre-e finally tipped us to deliver at 36 weeks.  I was in the hospital a week before I delivered.  It was horrible.  I couldn't sleep and I stupidly refused the ambien.

    Good good luck!

  • Oh no. You really jinxed yourself, honey! Bumping, online shopping, reading, personal research and sooo much sleeping got me through bed rest. Ask for something if you can't sleep. Thinking of you! Keep us updated.

  • oh no!  i am so sorry you get to experience the delight of hospital living.  On the positive side, there is a definite end date (not much of a positive spin, but it is something) and 35 weeks already is pretty awesome. i have bewn wondering how you are doing so i am glad you updated.
  • Hang in there. I never needed the magnesium. Hope you don't either. I hate hospital living constant interruptions! Luckily I got out and held off the pRe e till 36 w 1 d best of luck! Watch an old tv series that's what got me through 6feet under all seasons haha!
  • Sleeping in the hosp bed was the worst! Took forever to find the perfect position only to get woken up to check vitals, pee, or if that side fell asleep lol. Ask for extra pillows, and hopefully you brought your own pillow. Sorry =(

  • They started me on a low dose of oral labetalol last night (after giving me some via IV to do a quick drop when I got really high). The tablet seems to have stableized me over the course of the night, so they'll probably just use that until I start going up again. I'm getting a lot of sleep, I'm just waking up a bit sore. Started getting mild headaches yesterday after the meds, but I suppose you do what you gotta do. On the bright side, my lungs will be free from a lot of this pressure in the next week or so and we'll have pictures for everyone to oogle over sooner than we know it :)

  • Oh No!  I am so sorry as I know that sucks. I have another catch on Monday and if I am elevated any more than my one from this week I will be right there with you with the 26th as our cut off date and the hospital my new address!

Try and stay distracted and get as much rest as possible as pretty soon we won't get much!  Fingers crossed you make it to the 21st without any big issues other than boredom!  10 days, you got this!

  • Hang in there!  You are doing so well being at 35+ weeks!  I hope you get some visitors to keep you company.  If you have an iphone or ipad, how about downloading some games.  There is probably only so much tv one can stand too.  You're almost there!!!!
