emisi: seems alot of our March babies are super active right now - congrats on lots of baby stuff for christmas, that is great. I thought about doing the cloth diapers but haven't decided for sure if it is something I will be able to do.
Atleighdan: How has your sugar been? Have you met with your nurse & dietitian yet?

I had a appointment last thursday and it went ok. My sugar was good my dr. was pleased again so I must be doing something right. baby is still measuring 2 weeks ahead and he is almost 4 lbs already. I had some protein in my urine which was a first so add that to my GD and I now have to go to the dr. every week until the baby is born. Greatful my dr. wants to keep such a close eye on me and baby Cole. I will go again on Thursday. They told me he is going to be a big baby so we will make sure to moniter close too to decide birthing options...I am not sleeping as well as I would like but I guess that comes with the territory.
GTKY: I am from GEORGIA - recently our state became sort of famous because of Honey Boo Boo - I think the show gives our state a bad name but I can't keep myself from watching..crazy.and although I have never been to her town or seen her house she actually only lives about an hour and a half from my home town.
Update: I passed my 3 hour GTT and am so relieved that I do not have GD. I had my first baby shower on Sunday and it was very nice....all my MIL's friends. My friends are throwing me another shower on February 2nd. We have all the furniture for the nursery now and my FIL is coming next week to help us set up the nursery. This annoying cough that I have had for 10 days was worse today when I went back to work. As a teacher, it was hard to teach when I needed to cough all the time. My whole belly hurts from coughing. I have had two different nurses check my breathing and said there is nothing in my lungs so I just don't know what caused this. I am taking my inhaler, cough drops and drinking lots of liquids. I hope it goes away soon as it is getting painful and I feel bad for my poor girl getting shaken up all the time!
GTKY: I am from California. A fun fact is that we have both the highest point in the continental US at 14, 495 feet (Mt. Whitney) and the lowest point in the US at 282 feet below sea level (Death Valley).

GTKY: I live in KY, we have the biggest cave system here, also one of the deepest rivers which is down in a cave. They give tours, but I have no desire to go on a boat ride in the dark on the deepest river....not my idea of fun :

No news yet but I have an appt with my midwife tomorrow so hopefully I'll get the good news that I passed. I can't believe we have 79 days to go, time flies!

I am from Arizona! I asked DH for a random fact because I couldn't think of any haha. He says he thinks we have more counties than any other state and we also have the biggest Indian reservation...not sure if he's right but it sounds good to me
On Christmas morning we had our big reveal with the whole family and we are Team Pink! I was soooooo sure it was a boy. Still can't get my head around having a little girl. I'm delighted of course. Just surprised!!
DH and I live in south Florida. An interesting fact about Florida is that it is home to the largest banyan tree in the United States. It is located in Fort Meyers next to Thomas Edison's home. It has a circumference of 31 1/3 feet and a heighth of 62 feet. The tree was given to Thomas Edison by Harvey Firestone over 80 years ago when it was about 4 feet tall. It's pretty amazing.

My numbers have been well controlled by my diet, though I still have not met with the dietitian. Every day I try throwing something different into the mix, but it has been good so far. I had my second Endo appointment and education with the nurse yesterday. The educaiton was all stuff I really knew, like why it is important to controll your blood sugar during pregnancy. I met with a different PA and the office, though, and she gave me some 'rough numbers' for how many carbs I should be eating at each meal and snack. I have not really been counting my carbs, just making sure I don't eat too many. I meet with the dietitian tomorrow, so we will see what she says!

I am from Pennsylvania. Not an interesting fact about our state, but I personally know our Miss Pennsylvania. She danced at the same dance studio as me for years. I actually taught her dance when she was younger! She still comes in to use the studio when she is home, since Tap is her talent. We are all really excited for her and can't wait to cheer her on on Saturday!Thanks for asking. I spent the weekend in the ER because I couldn't breathe. As for the fact about Utah in the GTKY question... we have horrible air that gets trapped down here.
I just got a call this morning from my high risk OB's office. The glucose test I took yesterday returned such abnormal results that they don't even need me to do the 3 hour test. I've got GD. I feel a little crushed.
Love the Dairy Princess...Reminds me of one of my titles...I was Little Miss Sweet Potato ...lol
Try not to feel too bad about the GD....I have it too..there are actually a few of us on here that do. My 1 hr was so bad I didn't have to take the 3 hr either.

Thanks! My appointment today went well. If my numbers are high, they will call. Otherwise I will hear the results at my next appointment in two weeks. I only gained about a pound in the last month, but when she measured me she said things looked on track. My next appointment at the hospital for a cervical check and growth scan is Monday. I'll also get my rhoGAM shot.
So we are still working on choosing a paint color- not in love with any of the gray samples we got- unfortunately Benjamin Moore doesn't make samples of any of their other grays. Ugh. Also, we discovered what we think is leftover wallpaper glue that was painted over by a previous owner, so now we are calling in a professional painter to get an estimate on doing the room since stripping, sanding and painting is probably too much for us at this point. I feel like there is so much to do between now and the arrival of the LO. We still need to buckle down and figure out child care, sign up for birthing classes, etc. Yikes.
GTKY: I am from Massachusetts. We call milkshakes frappes, drink water from bubblers and frequently use "wicked" as a descriptor (as in, I am wicked tired. He is wicked cute. That was wicked stupid.).

I had my OB appointment on Monday, and everything went well. That drink was not as bad as I expected. I did get the fruit punch flavor so maybe that had something to do with it. I haven't heard back from the office yet, but they said no news is good news. I also got my Tdap shot and my arm is still sore. DH likes to nudge me in the arm when we're walking together or put his arm around me and squeeze as hard as he can, so I'm convinced this is why it's still sore!
We did get the crib put together and the room is really starting to look like a baby's room now. YAY! I'm really more thrilled to just be knocking stuff off my to-do list. Next up is calling the recommended pediatrician to meet with her.
GTKY: I am from Texas and my random fact is that the most popular snack foods in Texas are Frito pie (a bag of Fritos mixed with chili and cheese eaten straight from the bag), peanuts in Dr Pepper, beef jerky, jalapenos, and corn dogs. And that all sounds fantastic right now! I might have to make some chili this weekend just to have Frito pies!

Feeling good- had an appointment and u/s last Friday and all was well. With the holidays I got off track so I haven't started the every other week appointment schedule yet; so I will go again on Monday and then I guess start the more frequent schedule? I just feel like I'm getting way too close to the weekly visits and I'm not ready. I mean- on paper we are ready as far as having the things we need (and a lot of the things we don't) but It's hard to believe that my due date is less than 8 weeks away, especially when I start looking at the calendar and realize that every weekend in January is packed.
GTKY: I'm from Texas, and one random fact (not so much about Texas in general).... apparently I live like, 5 miles from where the original 'Dallas' was filmed (Southfork Ranch) I just didn't realize it. Never been though-
