Let me start by saying two things. First, I am a dog person; my husband likes cats. Second, I believe that barring any physical harm to my family or to the pet, that bringing animals into your home is a lifetime commitment.
I am so frustrated with our cats that I actually thought about getting rid of them earlier tonight. The elder of the two has always pissed on our clothes or blankets or towels or whatever he could find if he felt his litter box was too dirty for his taste. Before getting pregnant with my first, I cleaned their litter box daily. Now, I clean it every 2-3 days, so it's not horribly dirty. My oldest cat also pukes everywhere on a daily basis. He eats, then pukes a few minutes later. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. The vet says he just eats too fast, but they have access to dry food all day long. They won't eat wet food. The little one won't eat in front of the big one, so it's not a competitive thing. All of a sudden, the little one started pissing everywhere. Yesterday he pissed in my suitcase while I'm unpacking it. Tonight, he pissed right in the middle of my dining room floor. It's tile and there was nothing on the floor. WTH?
I don't feel like you get rid of pets because they inconvenience you, but they're making it hard to love them. I just would like them to regain control of their bodily functions and use them in an appropriate manner.
Re: I'm really starting to hate my cats.
But I do have to say I find it a little amusing that you have a bulimic cat. Maybe send him to therapy? ::mobile winky::
But in all seriousness, what a pain!
I'm with you on being frustrated though. We have an almost 6 year old yellow lab and she is probably the best dog you could ask for. I've had so much guilt since DS was about 1... the poor girl really doesn't get attention like she used to. Our backyard is a muddy mess and with spring coming, it's only going to get worse. Add to that 4 giant paws and a dog who loves to be outside and you get a house that's impossible to keep clean. I need to come up with a better plan for daily cleaning so I don't lose my mind trying to stay on top of it. And DH's solution is to give her to MIL. So frustrating.
I feel your frustrations, I have 3 cats and hate cleaning up after them, the dog and the LO.
If I were you I would take the one that started peeing everywhere to the vet to rule out a UTI or bladder/kidney infection. Also, you are going to have to scoop every day. Going from once a day to every couple of days isnt working.
You might also look at a grain free food (tase of the wild, blue buffalo...) and see if that curbs the vomit.
Good luck.

I am a true believer that cats are smart animals. When we got our dog 3 years ago, our cat Lars (4 at the time) started pooping on the floor.
Sometimes they don't take well to change, hate loosing attention and can be vengeful! At least that has been my experience!
I hope that things get better soon.
Add another bulimic cat to the mix. And since DD was about 3 weeks old she's taken to peeing in the nursery. Nowhere else, just the nursery. I started closing the door and she pees in the hallway in front of the door.
At my wits end for sure. But I won't get rid of her, she's old and won't be around much longer and I've had her since she was 2 weeks old. She clearly is jealous of being replaced as the baby.
Where do you get it?
For the peeing cat, make sure you have a huge litter box, use unscented litter, scoop every day, don't use a liner with the box sounds gross but is actually easier to clean and fully change the litter every week. Try not to leave things out that the cat likes to pee on for us, laundry and plastic grocery bags.
For the puker, you can get a bowl that has something that sticks up in the middle so the cat has to eat around it. Our vet also suggested just putting a big rock in the bowl.
