Babies: 6 - 9 Months

bed rolling question

We never had this problem with DD1, but DD2 has been rolling in her tummy at night. She doesn't like it.

I know it seems like I should just roll her back over, but it gets tiresome and I feel like it might be another habit we will have to break. We have also been doing Ferber for the last month and have had great results, but this rolling is throwing a wrench in it.

So do I let her figure it out or go roll her?

  • Let her figure it out. It doesn't take them too long.

  • I had this problem with DS a few months ago too.  Every time he would roll on his tummy he would start screaming; I think he couldn't figure out how to sleep like that.  It took 3 loooong weeks of him being up multiple times a night for him to figure it out.  I started just rolling him back but he would keep waking up so I started turning his head to the side (when he was on his belly) to kind of 'teach' him how to sleep like that.  Now as soon as I put him down, he rolls right over, puts his butt in the air, and falls asleep.  Good luck!
