It can happen at any time and this is one of the reasons that they check your blood pressure and urine at each visit and why visits become more frequent closer to the end of pregnancy. Since I am at increased risk of it because of a blood test, my doctor advised me to even go to the pharmacy to check my blood pressure as often as possible toward the end and be on the lookout for symptoms: sudden facial/hand swelling, feeling dizzy and/or nauseaus, general malaise.
