Confused

I am 28 weeks pregnant - No leaky boobs and my breast have grown VERY little during my whole pregnancy.. I want to breast feed and was just wondering if anyone knows if this is something I should be worried about?  Thanks

Re: Confused

  • I wouldn't worry too much. With my first, the only change I noticed as a darkening, and slightly larger, areola. No leaking and no growth spurt. My milk came in just fine (perhaps a little too well at one point, ouch) once my LO was born. In subsequent pregnancies the changes happened a little earlier.

  • Nothing to worry about. I am very small chested and didn't leak at all with my first pregnancy. I successfully breastfed my DD until she was 20 months.

ETA: I also have not had any boob growth during either pregnancy.

  • I am still in my prepregnancy bras.  I have implants and was worried that it would impact my ability to breast feed.  I asked my plastic surgeon and my OB and they both said that I will not know until I try so it is nothing to worry about.

  • No need to worry based on lack of fat accumulation...the milk glands are deeper in the chest than we normally think they would be.  The amount of adipose tissue deposited in the breasts will not dictate how much milk will be produced.  My SIL is the equivalent of Dolly Parton and she had very poor milk production whereas my cousin is practically a surfboard and can BF just fine.

  • I'm in the same boat! Really my boobs have t grow. Much but the milk really doesn't come in till the baby is born so I think it's okay plus PP are all correct you won't know until your supply come in how well you'll Bf
  • Thank you sooo much- That's about the only thing with me also- My areolas have done the same.. Thank you for your input- I feel better now!
  • THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED!
