Humidifier question

Is it better to run them during the day or at night? DS sounds like he's starting to get congested. A humidifier helps, right? I have one but don't want to use it all day because I myself have had asthma attacks when we used it before. Too much humidity or something.

Re: Humidifier question

  • I have a warm mist humidifier. I run it at night. If your LO is congested, I would start using saline drops and the bulb syringe. DD is congested and the nurse said to really get in there and not be a wuss. She cries every time I do it, but I would rather her cry than get progressively worse.

  • We run ours at night and it seems to help. Our pedi told us cool mist is better to use than warm or steamy mist.

  • We run ours mostly at night.

We used to use a cool mist one but those suckers are hard to clean and got really fungusy quick.  Yuck.  Now we use a warm mist one and its fairly simple to clean.

Also, the bulb syringe sucks lol.  Get a nose freida.
