<DH's Early Christmas Present>

DH had an interview for a "long term occasional" job (covering for someone who's on leave, usually for illness or maternity leave) this morning. It was an urgent situation, since they must have already had someone lined up for the job who had to back out and the job starts on the first day back to school in January (and goes for the rest of the school year!). He almost missed it, since he only saw the email offering him the interview ten minutes after the interview was supposed to start on Wednesday, but the principal asked him to come in this morning for the interview instead. He worked for this principal for a shorter LTO at the beginning of the year, so we figured it was a good sign that the principal was stuck and went "Hmm, I need someone quickly. I know! LCass' DH was good, let's get him in here." Well, the interview was at 8:30 this morning. DH did a couple of errands on his way home and had *just* walked in the door when his cell phone rang. The principal asked if he wanted an early Christmas present. He got the job! He's now on his way back to the school to meet the students and talk with the teacher who's going on leave. The next two weeks are going to be very busy getting stuff planned and organized for him. Things are finally starting to look up for us in terms of our careers/stability!

Thanks, Super. I just read your post and realized mine seems kind of insensitive next to it - sorry your H has to work so much! Hope you have a great visit with your family, though.
