Re: Pregnant (& TTC) after a Preemie Check in 12/20/12

  • Hi ladies! I hope everyone is doing well!

My two appointments this week went ok.  BP is still climbing but not high enough to send me back to L&D.  I'll be 33 weeks on Friday, and I'm very grateful to be hitting that milestone.

QOTW: Looking forward to DS1 unwrapping his presents on Christmas morning!  This is the first year that he will really get it :)

          DS1: Quinn - 10.22.10 and DS2: Cole - 01.18.13

  • Here's my update:

DD2 is now 9 months old and on Monday we had her appointment. She is up to 20lbs and 28 1/2 inches long (75% for actual age). She has been crawling for about a month and pulling herself up for a few weeks too. She just started to really get the whole finger foods and pretty much doesn't want anything to do with purees anymore (which is fine!). I feel so blessed that we have come so far since our time in the NICU. I never thought my 5lb 5oz baby would be 20lbs at 9 months old. A very proud mama here.

QOTW: DD#1 is really just understand the whole meaning of Christmas. She's really excited about Santa too. With DD#2 she is just excited when I move the sofa's away from the Christmas tree and she start exploring.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday. Stay Safe!

33 Weeks is a huge milestone. Keep on cooking that LO. It seems that bedrest is really helping too. Keep up the good work.

  • Hi Ladies,

I just got off the phone with my OB and wanted to share some good news with people. I had been having constant heavy bleeding since thanksgiving. I'm only 12 weeks and have already had 3 ultrasounds and biweekly apts to make sure nothing was going on.  My OB just called to tell me that she was pretty confident since I haven't had any bleeding or spotting this week, my ultrasound from yesterday was great and my blood work this week came back good (no infections) that she was confident in saying everything was good and I didn't need to come back until my 16 week apt for my first 17 P shot and cervical length check.

I am most looking forward to spending a relaxing Christmas at home and not going to the doctors office for a while.

    Mom to three beautiful preemies:

Lily born at 27 wks: 2 lbs 4 oz.
Max born at 27 wks: 2 lbs 2 oz.
Glenn born at 31 wks: 3 lbs 9 oz.

    My twin's birth story
  • 11 weeks and 1 day today, I cannot believe first tri is almost over already! I have my Nuchal on Monday and am a little nervous about everything being okay, but I have been neurotic in general this pregnancy. I am excited to see this LO again though.
  • Baby Lucas is here! I was having regular-enough and strong-enough (with a prior classical c-section) for my OB to decide that I needed to deliver late last Monday night. Lucas David was born on 12-18-12 at 12:54am, gestational age 36 weeks, 2 days. We made it so close to term and I am definitely calling it a success! He weighed 6 lbs 11 oz at birth, 18.25 inches long. I got discharged yesterday but Lucas had to stay for jaundice. We are REALLY hoping he gets to come home today. Other than the jaundice he is doing super well. Nursing has had a slow start and I am pumping and we are supplementing him with formula but we're hoping as my milk comes in and he gets a bit bigger and stronger that breastfeeding will take off, I'll have nough milk, and we can EBF then. I am totally in love with my best Christmas present ever!

  • Nothing much to report. No bleeding or spotting since my huge 9 week scare. We bought a doppler to help keep me sane and we felt ok about sharing the news with the family this past weekend with our Christmas gathering. My due date is the same as my 9 year old niece's birthday and she was in charge of passing out presents to everyone. When all the presents were opened, I handed her a note that said, "My cousin is due on my birthday next year!" She read it and didn't quite understand, but when she showed it to everyone, they all got excited and told her what it meant. She even kept the note and said it was the best Christmas present that she got this year. What a sweetheart! It made me cry. Next appt. will be Jan.4th.
