Would you be concerned?

For the past couple weeks DD will get upset when she spits up. I didn't think much of it, but then she started choking when I feed her. She's BF. Then this morning she threw up everything she just ate. I'm not talking spit up, I'm talking all of it, like a fountain. This is the first time that has happened. Anyone experience this? I'm goin to call the doc, but still wanted to hear from you ladies.

Does she arch her back when she's upset? Maybe reflux?

  • DS1 would do the fountain of spit up frequently, but never seemed upset by it. Our pediatrician said it was normal.

I've been having similar issues too. I think our issue is the position I'm nursing in - meaning my letdown is too forceful. I've been finding that he spits up less when I nurse him in the sidelaying position.

If it just started it might have something to do with you, not them.

I'm thinking this too b/c our Jordyn is starting to do the same thing. And in the sidelaying position, she does a lot better. Only recently has she gotten real fussy while eating and after. She'll nurse for awhile, then get super PO'd. I can't always tell if she's done and trying to tell me or if it's coming to fast. I think sometimes it's both! Poor babies :)

  • Alexis would do the fountain a lot as well, but she didn't seem to be affected except I think she became less fussy after.
