I have been taking DS to the gym's daycare for a couple months now and just this week he totally freaks out crying as soon as I hand him over to one of the women there. She said he played for a little bit but I ended up having to pick him up 20 minutes later because he was crying again. Any tips with this? I've left him with my sisters to babysit him before and they don't live close by so he doesn't see them that much either. Just wondering what I should do? I hate leaving him when he's crying but I know that he needs to be able to be away from me at some point too. Thanks!
Re: Help with separation anxiety!!
Both of my girls go through this, even when they dont see my mom for a few days they'll get anxiety and cry for me. My one daughter if my grandma even looks at her she starts crying. The only thing for me that helps is to calm her down a bit and hold her and eventually she warms up to whomever. Maybe give yourself a few extra minutes to play with her there so that she feels comfortable and then go? The only way they're going to outgrow it I guess is by exposure to new people and places.
