poop question.. black strings?

I opened DDs diaper today and there were quite a few strands of black pieces in her poop. She is breastfed and hasnt started any solids yet. The only thing I can think of is that she had her 4 month shots two days ago. Has anyone else experienced this?

My first thought was Bananas, but then you said she isnt eating solids yet. Thats exactly what happened to Lily when I first started giving her smashed Bananas...so...I'm no help LOL

My daughter has some nasty chunky poops after her 4 month shots. It seems to be going back to normal, but I'd watch it. I *think* I read on kellymom that black in poop is a sign of them processing blood possibly from you/cracked nips.

Don't quote me on that last one for sure, but I'd kellymom search it and see what that says

My first thought was bananas too!

My understanding is that black "could" be blood, so it's always good to get it checked out if it continues.  That being said, my baby had nasty dark dark green stringy poop after his 2 month vax....I think it was a reaction from the oral rotavirus vaccine.  My Dr. said as long as it wasn't "magenta" not to worry.  Good luck
