A friend of mine told me today that one of her FB friends has a picture of DD as his profile pic. In the caption, he wrote that DD was his son!
When she asked him about the pic, he said he got it off of someone on a fantasy football website.
What the flickity fluck?!
The only way for that to happen is if one of my "friends" got the pic of DD (the one that I use as my profile pic on FB) and used it, right?
Now I am debating whether to delete all of her pics or just get rid of FB altogether. Stupid people!!!!

What!?!? I'm so sorry!! That's effing creepy.
Honesty, if you change all your privacy settings to where only your friends can see the pic, if one of your friends is tagged in the pic, all their friends will see it. Or if they share your pic, all of their friends will see it. And if they don't have their privacy settings up--then the whole world can see it. I hate that FB doesn't let you approve whether someone can share your pictures or not. I have asked all my FB friends not to share ANY of my pictures, especially the ones of DD. The only good thing is FB will tell you if someone shared the pic and then you can ask that person to take it down. But, there could still be time for someone to right click and download to their computer. I'm so afraid someone is doing the same thing with DD's pictures....
That is incorrect.. you can adjust those settings, as well. I have my settings set up so only my friends can see them.. regardless who is tagged.. you have to be MY friend in order to view it..
But, going off of what OP said.. she's thinking it was a friend of her's that took the picture, which means, she probably already has these settings up... that is just WAY creepy. I would call the guy out on it. And unfriend anyone even remotely sketchy.

Nope, it has been tested. All my settings are set to Friends Only. When a friend is tagged in one of my pictures, their friends comment on it and we are not friends.
Go into custom settings and uncheck Friends of those tagged
The default when you click friends only sets it up to allow friends of those tagged, but you can go in and over ride that. And, it does in fact work. You just have to make sure to change it for all of your albums. The only ones you can not change are profile pictures. That's automatically viewable to everyone who can search for you.
I have my settings so that only "friends" can see it, and I have the friends that are tagged box unchecked. I don't really add pics anyways and never tag anybody.
I now have her photo album set at a custom setting, but not sure how to add just the people I want to be able to see it. I might just end up removing her album.
My question is now, how do I make my profile pics private? I can change the profile pic, but the original is still in the profile pic album. Do I have to just delete it?
I'm still so baffled by the fact that someone would do this.

That I'm pretty sure you can not do. Your best bet is to just keep pics of DD out of your profile... and delete it from the profile pic album. I'm not sure if everyone can see the "album", but anyone that is able to search you can see your default profile pic.. now, you can always set yourself as "hidden" so no one can search you.. but, I'm pretty sure even if you have that setting, a friend of a friend could access your page and see your default.. don't quote me on that, though, because I haven't necessarily tried that...
So sorry you're dealing with this BS!!!
ETA: Actually, I just realized you can set your default picture to private.. you just can't change the whole album at once like you can other albums.. but you can go in to each individual photo and adjust the settings!

I don't know why FB has to make "privacy" so difficult!! Why can't it just be a simple thing to set your settings and have them stay that way for everything!! Why must it be so tricky! Ugh ..

The fact that a person needs to do a bunch of computer gymnastics to keep private things private (when that should probably be the default, right?) further reinforces my distrust of FB.

Oh thanks! Now why couldn't they put that setting in the regular privacy settings page?? Ugh.

This whole situation is very creepy . . . but I actually have more to worry about when it comes to my MIL who posts a pic of my DS without the proper privacy settings ~ I'll have to talk to her about that :S
